The Grappling Club - Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Posted on November 22 2016
The Grappling Club is located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn NYC. It is an absolutely gorgeous looking school, very fitting for the look and feel of the neighborhood it is in.
When you walk in, you're greeted by wood floors, white walls, and picture frames with grappling hooks (get it?). To your left is the bathroom, and changing rooms, again all white, with cubbies and showers. To your right, is the mat space, resting on the hardwood floors. Their are plants in the corners and along the walls, which accentuate the all white mat.
The dojo is so clean, and visually attractive, you can't help but want to train! We first found out about the school through our Chief SRC Ambassador, PJ. He had dropped by for a class, and the head instructor Alex Bednenko had invited him back for another complimentary class! I went along as well, and it was fantastic. (More on that here)
The Grappling Club is just that - their instagram boasts "The original Brooklyn social club centered around the grappling arts". They offer Gi & No Gi Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Wrestling, and Sambo! That's just about all of the grappling you get. All of the instructors have some slick techniques. You can some of them on their Instagram or on their website.
The Grappling Club has classes Monday-Friday, and an unlimited membership option for a price that you can't beat for the area. We highly recommend this dojo. And if you're in the area, stop by for a class or an open mat. Say hi to Alex for us. Say SRC sent you, and he'll hook you up!
